Deal: Chromecast and Chromecast Audio on sale until next week
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
Yesterday we saw the beginning of a shift in the options Google offered its users for viewing their favorite content on the big screen of living-room televisions: the Android TV-running Nexus Player was unceremoniously pulled from the Google Store. As we noted shortly thereafter, there was still a lot of other Android TV hardware from other manufacturers available to buy, so it's not like you were totally out of luck if you wanted to get your media fix that way. But if you don't quite all the glitz and glamor of Android TV – basically, if you just want to stream a few services and aren't too concerned about fancier apps on your TV – Google fans still had a very compelling option in the form of the super-affordable Chromecast. Now Google's streaming dongle is getting cheaper yet, as the company puts both it and Chromecast Audio on sale for the next few days.
With both the standard Chromecast and Chromecast Audio running $35 normally, that represents just over a 14-percent discount. Sure, that's pretty minor as things go (and this hardware was also so low-priced to begin with), but a sale's a sale, and if you need another Chromecast for your new TV or stereo, now's as good a time as any to pick one up.
