Apple introduced some widgets in the pull-down notification center with iOS 5, but those never made it to the homescreen, like you are used with on Android devices.
A new tweak called Dashboard X aims to remedy this injustice, and provide you with a way to quickly grab some info or interact with apps right from your iPhone or iPad homescreens, without actually having to go and launch them, saving yourself a few taps and swipes.
Besides dragging down the Notification Center widgets to the homescreen, Dashboard X offers you to choose an Activator action, which then overlays the Dashboard screen on top of the interface to show you the currently active widgets, OS X-style, that you can interact with.
The Dashboard X tweak requires a jailbroken iOS device, of course, and is available in the ModMyi repo for $1.99. Have a look at the video below detailing its features.
