DROID or Nexus One being given out to Google I/O attendees
Not only do attendees to Google's annual I/O conference get a chance to learn about all the cool stuff and technologies related to Google, but they're getting a special gift even before actually attending the event. To the surprise of the many developers that made the trip to the event last year, Google handed out free Android phones during the event. This year though, they're shipping out either a Motorola DROID or HTC Nexus One to attendees before the conference – their reasoning is that they won't have to waste time with having to hand them out and register them at the event. Unfortunately there is no way to request for a specific model because Google is sending them out based on the what location they entered when they signed up for the conference. Still, it isn't too shabby that they'll get either of the two biggest Android devices in the US at no additional cost to them.
