Cricket matches MetroPCS with $50/mo plan with 8GB of LTE data, unlimited talk and text
Last week, T-Mobile prepaid brand MetroPCS debuted a rather neat promotion that updated the $50/month plan to include 8GB of LTE data. Today, Cricket Wireless responded with a similar promotion that matches the MetroPCS offer.
Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS may have similarly-priced prepaid plans but they are not identical. The two prepaid carriers, however, have an intersection point at what seems to be the most popular plan, $50/mo for 5GB of LTE data. MetroPCS launched a promo last week that boosted the monthly storage bucket on the $50 plan to 8GB of monthly, and now Cricket Wireless has decided to match it.
If you're tempted to make the switch to Cricket, note that you can shave $5 off the bill by setting up AutoPay on your account. 8GB of monthly data and unlimited talk and text at $45? That sounds like a good deal for heavier data users.
"Today's mobile lifestyle requires more data access than ever before, and Cricket continues to focus on finding ways to delight our customers by giving them more for less," said Tiffany Baehman, chief marketing officer, Cricket Wireless.
