If you use Verizon's FiOS TV DVR, and own an Android phone, you can add a new app that will allow you to remotely program the machine. The download includes a program guide for remote scheduling capabilities, VOD browsing so you can mark the shows you want to see later, parental controls to keep the tykes from watching certain shows, and a free space indicator. The next step will be to allow the app to stream some of your taped shows to your Android device. As the photo below shows, the app also will give you the amount of playing time that you have already used taping shows like The View and SpongeBob. Basically, all of the functions from the FiOS DVR web site are nicely presented on your handset.
