Chrome for Android update brings "tap to search" feature
Launching later in the year as part of the Android M update, Google Now on Tap allows you to use the personal assistant without leaving an app that you are currently using. Additionally, the application will pop up with more contextually relevant cards. For example, let's say that you are reading a message about going to the movies. A Google Now card will show movie times and trailers.
Now, an update has added a new "tap to search" feature to Google Chrome for Android. Not quite as powerful as the upcoming Google Now feature, "tap to search" uses Chrome's ability to know where you are searching from to deliver more relevant search results. Let's say that you are on an entertainment-centric website and you tap on the word "America," instead of getting search results related to America the country, you will see links to the movie Captain America: Civil War. Scroll up to see information relating to the cast, images and more information relating to the film.
The update will start rolling out in a few days. Those who hate typing in long search terms will find it quite useful. If you already have the Chrome Browser installed on your phone, you can see if the update has arrived by going to the My apps page in the Google Play Store. If you want to install the browser on your handset, it is a free download. Simply click on the sourcelink.
