Chinese iPhone case MESUIT runs Android on iOS, adds more battery juice and storage

Last month we saw a weird “hack” case that allowed Android 4.1 Jellybean to run as an app within iOS. Now, Chinese mobile OS virtualization company Haimawan, and its subsidiary Jijia, have announced an official product, called MESUIT, that promises to do the same thing, only better.

The MESUIT case allows a proprietary Android-based operating system, called Mesuit OS 1.0, to run on iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus devices, and at the same time acts as an external battery and storage device with its own SIM card slot. The MESUIT case for iPhone 6 and 6s adds an additional 1700 mAh of battery juice, while the bigger version for Plus devices bumps that up to 2500 mAh. It also comes in three storage capacities – with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB of memory – which can be shared with the main OS.

The MESUIT requires only a connection via the Lightning port and runs Android as an app within iOS. The base variant of the smaller model costs around $150, while the larger comes with a price tag of about $165. Haimawan also announced that it's working on a case that would allow iOS to run on Android devices, expected to be unveiled next year.
