The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a high-spec'd phablet that has many drooling over the device. Rumored specs include a 5.7-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The base model is expected to feature the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM, and the premium model will carry the Snapdragon 823 SoC with 6GB of RAM inside. One rumor has Xiaomi stuffing 256GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage into the phablet. This tech handles data faster than eMMC flash storage.
We also could see Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button of the Mi Note 2. Qualcomm's scanner is faster and more accurate than other fingerprint scanners found on Android devices. The rear 16MP camera could have OIS and a 4000mAh battery will keep the lights on. It all sounds mouth watering, especially when you consider that Xiaomi is more reasonable when it comes to pricing than many other manufacturers.
According to a Weibo post by analyst Pan Jiutang, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be unveiled sometime next month. It's hard to believe, but we've been talking about this phone ever since last September. Even back then there was talk that the device would include Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
We can sense that the days of rumors and speculation about the Mi Note 2 are about to end as Xiaomi will finally introduce its powerful high-end phablet soon.
