Check out these claimed Galaxy S8+ live shots in oily Orchid Grey
While we've seen the press renders of an Orchid Grey Galaxy S8+, the real device is a completely different animal, and, quickly enough, someone has posted a few pics on Weibo, claiming to be live shots of the S8+.
The device indeed corroborates all we've seen and heard so far about the new Samsung design and color schemes - it has the curved display, rounded corners, finger scanner on back, and even a live lock screen with the Always-on display notifications front and center. The set also confirms what we saw in the leaked official renders - that all model colors will come with a black front, and only the back and sides will be in the respective hue. What we are a bit miffed about is the writing of the actual model on the back, instead of only "Samsung" as in the leaked pressers. Those were likely of international versions, though, which often have just the Samsung logo on the back.
The US carrier versions, as well as the unlocked S7 and S7 edge models that Samsung currently sells on its web store in the US, have the model splashed across the back, so this may be a US unit, judging also from the FCC ID at the rear, or an engineering sample of sorts. In any case, this particular Orchid Grey unit, whatever it is, seems to have a pretty nasty case of fingerprint magnetism, which is invaluable information that can't be gleaned from any official press render otherwise. We rest our case.
