Cheaper Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition models are coming soon
Xiaomi's current flagship smartphone, the Mi 8 was officially introduced a few months ago, and it looks like they've been popular enough (or not) to justify the handset maker's decision to launch even more variants.

If you didn't know, Xiaomi launched three different versions of its flagship, which are now available in China in some other countries as Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, and Mi 8 Explorer Edition. According to Xiaomi, the Mi 8 series sold 1 million units since late last month, even though they haven't been officially made available in Europe where they will go on sale in August.

It's also worth mentioning that the Mi 8 Explorer Edition hasn't been released on the market yet, but Xiaomi already has two additional Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition models in the pipeline. They have been recently spotted at the Chinese regulatory agency, TENAA, and from what's listed there it looks like they will be cheaper than the Mi 8 Explorer Edition model confirmed back in May.

According to Xiaomi, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition will be the most expensive flagship in the Mi 8 series and will sell for around $570 in China, but it comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The new models listed at TENAA come with 4GB and 6GB RAM, as well as 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage. Unfortunately, the combinations of memory Xiaomi will use are unclear for the moment, but it would make sense to have 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB models.

Considering the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition doesn't come with microSD memory slot, storage is a very important spec for this particular flagship.
