Case Mate has confirmed the September 20th launch date for the Apple iPhone 5C by listing the date on its website as the shipping date for its new line of cases for the budget priced Apple iPhone 5C. The date had been previously rumored to be the launch date for the budget-priced iPhone 5C and the full-priced Apple iPhone 5S. It makes sense that if the iPhone 5C is released on September 20th, the iPhone 5S would be available on the same date.
Earlier on Tuesday, Apple finally sent out the invitation for the September 10th event that will unveil the two new iPhone models. The full-priced Apple iPhone 5S is expected to have a new camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for better low-light photographs. A higher capacity battery and a more powerful Apple A7 processor is expected on board. In addition, the latest speculation is that the oft-rumored fingerprint scanner will be found under the home button. This model will be available in four colors including black, white, gold and graphite.
The Apple iPhone 5C is the budget-priced version of Apple's iconic smartphone and the 5C supposedly stands for the 5 colors that the model will be available in. Those colors are red, yellow, white, blue and green. Earlier Tuesday, reliable source evleaks used a press picture from Case Mate to tweet one of the clearest pictures of the iPhone 5C that we've seen to date.
