CBS to launch mobile video alerts
CBS Corporation has unveiled its plans to launch two new subscription services that will allow subscribers to receive news and entertainment alerts, including video clips on their mobile phones. The new service, offering news alerts is called News to Go, and will be available for 99 cents a month. The other one that focuses on entertainment is called E.T. to Go and will be offered for $3.99 a month.Initially the alerts will be sent five times a day and one and the same alerts will be sent to each subscriber, but CBS plans to launch a feature that will enable customers to customize their interests. According to the NY Times, CBS is also planning to introduce a similar service for CBS Sports,a soap opera in three-to-five-minute episodes,live mobile TV as well as a $6 monthly service to interject sound effects in conversations, images, games, ring tones, etc.
