Both Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and Huawei Ascend P6S could launch this month; pricing leaks for both phones
A published report on Monday cites a source in China for leaked pricing information on two of Huawei's eagerly anticipated phones. The Huawei Ascend Mate 2, which was unveiled at CES, is rumored to be priced at 2988 RMB ($493 USD). The sequel to the handset that once had the largest screen at 6.1 inches, the Ascend Mate 2 also carries the same sized glass.
While the Huawei Ascend P6S was not displayed at CES, the device is believed to have the same design as the Ascend Mate 2 and both are said to be powered by the same quad-core 1.6GHz Hisilicon processor. This model is rumored to be priced at 2288 RMB ($378 USD).
The same source out of China says that both units will be launched in that country before the Chinese New Year. This holiday starts on January 31st, which means that the pair should be on sale before the end of this month. Both the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and the Huawei Ascend P6S have been certified by Chinese regulators which adds some support to the rumored launch date.
