BlackBerry Torch 9810 now official, coming soon to AT&T
Well, what do you know, only hours after getting its own “coming soon” page over at AT&T's webpage and catching many by surprise, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 has been officially unveiled by RIM at the company's media event in London. The announcement lined up seamlessly with the handful of rumors from yesterday suggesting that RIM will be introducing the smartphone along with another member of the BlackBerry lineup – the BlackBerry Torch 9860.

As it was expected, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 adopts the form factor of its predecessor, the Torch 9800, and features an identical portrait sliding QWERTY keyboard. However, the 3.2-inch display of the new smartphone now boasts a resolution of 480 by 640 pixels, which translates into a pixel density of 253 ppi. Furthermore, a new 1.2GHz processor is what ticks under the smartphone's hood, the 5MP camera with flash does 720p HD recording, and we now have an HSPA+ 4G radio inside for fast Internet access on the go. Of course, the ultimate BlackBerry experience will not be achieved without BlackBerry OS 7, which will be running the whole show.

Those of you who are interested in getting the BlackBerry Torch 9810 should look no further than AT&T's shelves as it is the only carrier that will be offering the handset in the US. The smartphone is expected to hit the market later this year, followed by the BlackBerry Torch 9860 and Bold 9900.
