BlackBerry PlayBook 2 should sport a higher-resolution 10" screen and native BES support
4G-enabled BlackBerry Playbook is just around the corner, and RIM is obviously working on taking its tablet baby to the next, 10" level, as we reported. Some more rumors about the PlayBook 2 have popped up, namely a higher-resolution screen, and support for all typical BlackBerry applications that made the platform so popular.
The best part is that the QNX OS will receive its update together with the PlayBook 2, and include native support for BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), which has been giving a headache to users of the current tablet. At the moment they have to use BlackBerry Bridge to connect to BES, which certain carriers are not very kosher with.
The new 10-incher is supposedly coming by year-end with a thinner bezel, and could be offered in both black and white versions. RIM is making the jump directly to 4G, supplying the PlayBook 2 with Wi-Fi and a SIM slot, which will supposedly be with 4G connectivity only. The BlackBerry Playbook 2 is rumored to hit retail at the end of this year, in time for the holidays.
