BlackBerry Passport in red available in limited quantities starting Friday
At today's BlackBerry for enterprise event, BlackBerry CEO John Chen introduced a red version of the BlackBerry Passport. Originally expected to hit the market around Christmas, the new color option of the flagship 'Berry will be available in limited quantities starting tomorrow. The business-centric handset has been well-received since its launch, with BlackBerry selling out of its inventory twice.
This is the third color that we have seen the Passport wear, besides black and white. On BlackBerry's U.S. online store, the price of the phone has been cut by $100 and is now priced at $599. In the states, the handset is compatible only with the AT&T and T-Mobile network.
The BlackBerry Passport is a very important part of the manufacturer's plan to capture enterprise business. With the 4.5 inch 1440 x 1440 resolution screen, it is wide enough to view documents without having to scroll from side to side. The Snapdragon 801 CPU and 3GB of RAM allows the user to multitask effortlessly, while handling most tasks quickly and smoothly. And combined with BBM, BlackBerry Blend and the just released BBM Meetings app, you have a useful business tool that lets you do your job, even when you're mobile.
