BlackBerry KEYone coming to Sprint on July 14

The new BlackBerry KEYone is available for purchase just about anywhere in the world, but in the United States customers can only buy the unlocked version of the smartphone. Unfortunately, the unlocked BlackBerry KEYone will not work on CDMA carriers like Sprint and Verizon.

Although rumors about an upcoming release of the Verizon-branded BlackBerry KEYone emerged last month, no carrier in the US offers the smartphone for the moment.

But that might change by the end of this week, as new information confirmed by a Sprint rep points to a July 14 release for the BlackBerry KEYone. So, how is this going to work and when will you be able to buy the phone?

Well, Sprint says that the BlackBerry KEYone is expected to launch for online direct ship on July 14. Customers who prefer to pick this one up at the retail stores will have to wait two more weeks until July 28.

Sadly, the carrier has yet to provide information about the price options, though US retailers offer the unlocked model for $550 outright, so Sprint's price should be around the same amount. Until the smartphone goes live at Sprint, you can go ahead and read our BlackBerry KEYone review so that you'll know what to expect.
