BlackBerry DTEK60 shows up on the Staples Canada website
Even though the new BlackBerry DTEK60 has yet to be officially introduced, we have seen it available for pre-orders through New York's B&H Photo. North of the border, office supply chain Staples Canada has the DTEK60 listed on its website. BlackBerry's latest Android powered handset is not yet for sale from Staples Canada; unlike B&H, the retailer is not yet collecting pre-orders. Instead, the unit is listed as being out of stock, as Staples Canada waits for BlackBerry to make it official.
The DTEK60 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 820 chipset carrying a quad-core 2.15GHz CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of expandable native storage. The 2TB capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional storage.
A 21MP camera is on back and includes PDAF for fast focusing. On the front of the phone is an 8MP camera for selfies and video chats. Yes Virginia, this is the first BlackBerry model to feature a fingerprint scanner. The lights are kept on thanks to a 3000mAh battery, and the phone comes with a Type-C USB port.

Staples Canada will sell the phone, unlocked, for $699.99 CAD. That works out to $532 USD, or a bit more than the $499.99 USD that B&H is asking for pre-orders. B&H is also throwing in a free rapid charger and travel case, a $50 USD value. It doesn't appear that Staples Canada is tossing in any extras with the purchase of a DTEK60.
