BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider AT&T bound with a launch in June?
Although we have seen only 14 seconds of it in action, there has been some pent-up demand for the BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider. What looks like the love child from a relationship between a BlackBerry Storm and a Bold, the 9800 appears to combine the ease of a touchscreen with the outstanding physical QWERTY keyboard that BlackBerry is known for. It now looks like AT&T will be launching this device during the middle to the end of next month. The carrier is so positive that it has a hit on its hands that it supposedly placed an order for more than one million units. The 9800 Slider is expected to ship with the new BlackBerry OS 6 which appears to narrow the gap between BlackBerry and devices running more visually focused operating systems like Android and the iPhone. AT&T is supposed to get a short exclusive on the phone and by the fourth quarter of this year, a CDMA variant is expected to be available at Sprint. Love the Storm but want a physical QWERTY? Love the Bold but want a touchscreen? The BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider should satisfy most BlackBerry fans.
