BlackBerry Aurora now available for pre-orders in Indonesia; phone ships March 3rd?
Those of you with a decent memory might recall that back in December, we showed you information about a BlackBerry phone with the model number BBC100-1. Discovered on the website belonging to Indonesian regulator POSTEL, the handset is the result of a partnership between BlackBerry and Indonesia's Merah Putih. The combined company, BB Merah Putih, has developed the BB100-1 for the Indonesian market.

Indonesian retailers by the name of Elevenia and Lazada have posted ads for pre-orders of the device, which reveal that the unit will be known as the BlackBerry Aurora. It is available in Silver, Gold and Black with shipping expected to start on March 3rd. While no specs have been listed, a previous leak called for a 5.5-inch display carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution. Powering the Aurora is reportedly the Snapdragon 425 chipset with a quad-core CPU, and the Adreno 308 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside. A 3000mAh battery keeps the lights on, and the device will sport support for dual SIM cards.

Considering the limited availability and the low-to mid range specs, it is easy for the Aurora to get overlooked by the much more ambitious BlackBerry KEYone. The Aurora is a touch only device with a textured back. It will cost the equivalent of $260 USD in Indonesia.
