Black Editions of Samsung's Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini might be launched in February
Samsung won’t be all about the Galaxy S5 in early 2014. The company is reportedly getting ready to also release new versions of its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini soon.
According to Sam Mobile, the S4 and S4 Mini will each get a Black Edition in February (with the Mini expected to be available in single-SIM and dual-SIM flavors). Now, as you may already know, the two handsets already have Black Mist versions, but if you’ve seen these in real life you’ve noticed that their black isn’t too deep. So we’re guessing that the rumored Black Editions will be of the purest black possible.
Since both the Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini Black Editions are expected to be launched in February, we could get a glimpse of them at MWC 2014 in Barcelona. That is, of course, if Samsung will bother to bring these older (albeit in new clothes) smartphones to the show.
Feature-wise, the S4 and S4 Mini Black Editions shouldn’t be different from the handsets that can be bought right now. But we can hope that they’ll run Android 4.3 - or, why not, 4.4 KitKat - out of the box.

The Galaxy S4 currently comes in seven different colors (although not in all markets): White Frost, Black Mist, Blue Arctic, Brown Autumn, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, and Pink Twilight. With the new S4 Black Edition, the smartphone will be available in eight color versions. We can't think of any other flagship handset that has more color variations, but, if you can, you should let us know in the comments!
