Black Edition BlackBerry KEYone is official in India with 4GB of RAM
Just a few days ago, we told you that a video teaser revealed that the BlackBerry KEYone would soon be unveiled in India. Speculation pointed to an unveiling date of August 1st. And sure enough, right on target today (which is August 1st), the Limited-Edition KEYone Mercury Black Device By BlackBerry Made By Optiemus Infracom was introduced. While the original KEYone was designed and produced by TCL, which is a partner with BlackBerry, this limited edition is made by Optiemus Infracom thanks to a license the latter has with TCL.
There are a trio of differences between the TCL version of the KEYone and the Optiemus variant. One difference is that the latter made model is offered in all black. Another change deals with the amount of RAM that comes with the KEYone. The TCL version is sold in the U.S. and other places with 3GB of RAM inside. The Limited-Edition KEYone made By Optiemus Infracom carries 4GB of RAM, while the amount of native storage doubles from a capacity of 32GB to 64GB.

Thanks to the fact that the Snapdragon 625 chipset powering the TCL made KEYone is the same one used on the Optiemus variant, the spectacular battery life that has been a big draw for KEYone buyers should continue to be so. Unfortunately, the Limited-Edition black BlackBerry KEYone will be available for now in India only, priced at just under $624 at Amazon. The unit could end up offered in other markets, although those who want the black KEYone now do have the option to import the unit.
