Big on word puzzles? Sidewords is a fresh new take, coming soon to iOS

Word puzzle games are as old as newspaper crosswords, and have achieved a cult status with young and old, especially the competitive varieties like the perennial favorites Words with Friends or a Scrabble box. There is a new game in town, though - Sidewords - that is a different take on a favorite concept. It provides the chill of Scrabble - no timers or penalties - with a bit of a logic puzzle element, and still manages to keep the gameplay interesting.

As you can see in the game trailer video above, you scout for letters scattered around the puzzle grid to form words that will ultimately cover the whole board. The grid's size and form are determined by the length and hardness of the words used, so there are plenty of opportunities for challenging gameplay. When does it land to an iPhone or iPad near you?
