Best Buy retracts its statement of launching the Samsung Gem
Consumer electronics giant Best Buy might've let the lid off of the Samsung Gem a little bit earlier than expected after the handset was seen recently in their buyer's guide, but it looks as though the retailer is retracting its statement of it “coming soon.” Stores across the country placed a correction notice that now states that there is no estimate on when the handset will be launched. In addition, it's is difficult to infer from the notice whether or not they plan on not selling the handset altogether or if they're simply pushing back its release.
Unfortunately, there will naturally be a few people bummed out by this new revelation, but hopefully they work with Verizon in getting this handset out as quickly as they can. Whenever we see handsets being mentioned or revealed by sources outside of the carrier, like online retailers like Wirefly or LetsTalk, it generally would point to a relatively close launch. However, the case isn't the same in this situation – so it's hard to say what's going to happen next.
