Besides the HTC Desire, U.S. Cellular also poised to grab BlackBerry Bold 9650?
Yesterday, we reported how a leaked rebate form for U.S. Cellular included the Android powered HTC Desire. The Desire is one of the highly anticipated, super spec'd models that is coming off the assembly line at HTC. Another phone that is also on the rebate form-which is valid for phones purchased from April 16th through July 15th-is the BlackBerry Bold 9650. A sequel to the Tour 9630, the Bold 9650 features Wi-Fi, an optical trackpad and comes out of the box loaded with the BlackBerry 5.0 OS. No date was given for a launch and no pricing info was released, although we can tell you that the mail-in-rebate will return $70 to a buyer. It would be quite interesting if the nation's sixth largest carrier beat out Verizon as the first to release this model. Big Red customers have seemingly been waiting quite a long time for this phone. Sprint is also expected to offer the 9650 as well, perhaps in the second or third quarter of the year.
