Bell Canada and Virgin Mobile are now offering the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in red. All of the specs remain the same as does the pricing which starts at $179.95 with a 3 year contract and runs as high as $599.95 with no contract. With the newest finger-centric OS and the WebKit based browser, the device gives 'Berry users some of the things that they have been lacking for some time such as pinch-to-zoom in the browser, tabbed web pages and universal search.
While the improvements took the Torch closer to the capabilities of the Apple iPhone and Android models, they were not enough to start a mass exodus to the BlackBerry unit. Perhaps a red casing will entice those on the fence into making a decision in favor of the Canadian manufacturer.
