Bandai Namco has just shared more information about the upcoming release of Tekken Mobile, the iOS/Android version of the beloved fighting game franchise that will have players engage in multiplayer matches against one another in heated... card battles. Yes, you read that absolutely correctly - Bandai Namco has gone the CCG way in the vein of Hearthstone, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and multiple other card games that are popular right now.

The game will be officially launched on Android/iOS in the following locations at the following dates:

  • February 1st: Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia
  • February 15th: UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Benelux, Singapore
  • March 1st: United States, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong
If you pre-register for the game (which you can do right here), Bandai Namco will throw in some sweet bonuses for you in the form of coins, gems, and card stacks.

So far, so good, but... we can't help it - that's not exactly the mobile rendition of Tekken we've hoped to see. A run-of-the-mill card game wouldn't satiate our hunger for a high-quality mobile fighter that would ever so slightly help us relive certain childhood memories. Oh well.
