BLU is far from being a major smartphone manufacturer, and yet it's been making quite a few headlines lately, thanks to its affordable handsets (running either near-stock Android, or Windows Phone).
Now, BLU is in the news again, as it announced Lollipop updates for no less than 10 of its handsets that currently run Android 4.4 KitKat.
The first BLU smartphones to get Android Lollipop are the Studio X and Studio X Plus (pictured on the left). Their owners should expect to receive the update starting today. Later this month, the BLU Studio G, BLU Star 4.5, and BLU Studio 6.0 HD will also be updated. Finally, July will bring Lollipop to the following handsets: BLU Life One, BLU Life One XL, BLU Vivo Air, BLU Life Pure XL, and BLU Studio Energy.
All BLU smartphones can be bought unlocked from Amazon. Two of the most interesting models are the 5.1mm-thin
Vivo Air ($199), and the
Studio Energy ($149), which offers a massive 5000 mAh battery.
