A few weeks ago, Miami-based BLU announced the Vivo XL, a 5.5-inch phablet with mid-level specs and an entry-level price point. Today, BLU announced that the Vivo XL became available for purchase from BestBuy.
For this weekend only, the handset will only set you back $99.99, down from the usual retail price of $149.99.
During out BLU Vivo XL hands-on, we've been impressed with what the handset has to offer at its usual retail price ($149.99). Needless to say, the Vivo XL features an even better value for the money at $99.99.
The Vivo XL comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels. Sure, the pixel density is no match for current-gen flagships, but the overall quality of the display is very good for the price.
The processing power is ensured by a MediaTek MT-6753 SoC, a chip that integrates a 1.3GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU and an ARM Mali-T720 GPU. Paired with 2GB of RAM, the chip should offer smooth operation during basic tasks.
Interestingly, the official press release that announced the availability of the Blu Vivo XL includes a benchmark score comparison with the 3rd-generation Motorola Moto G. Note that we cannot confirm these results at this point, but the performance of the phone was satisfactory during our short time with the device.
Other specs include a 13MP primary camera, a 5MP secondary shooter, 16GB of microSD-expandable internal storage. On the software side, the BLU Vivo XL currently runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, but the company says that an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is on its way.
The phone is available in either Midnight Blue or Solid Gold color options at BestBuy. If you're interested, head on over to the source link below. Remember that the $99.99 price tag is valid only through this weekend.
