August 8th said to be launch date for Sony Xperia tipo in U.K.
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
Back in June, we told you about Sony's entry-level handset, the Sony Xperia tipo. In fact, there even is a model with dual-SIM cards called the Sony Xperia tipo dual. According to Carphone Warehouse, the Sony Xperia tipo will launch in the U.K. on August 8th although you can pre-order the device from the independant retailer right now. If you're looking for a subsidized deal, the phone can be yours for the low price of free as long as you sign up with one of the U.K. carriers on a plan costing you at least £10.50 per month ($16.45 USD). You can choose from mobile operators O2, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile or Talkmobile.
For those looking to go the pre-paid way, the Sony Xperia tipo is just £89.95 ($140.89 USD) when purchased with a £10 ($15.67 USD) top-up. Finally, there is the SIM free option which will cost you £119.95 ($187.96 USD). Those who pre-order the phone now (click on the sourcelink if interested) should have the device in hand on August 8th.
The Sony Xperia tipo offers a 3.2 inch HVGA display with a low pixel density of 180ppi. Under the hood is a single core 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225AA processor with 512MB of RAM on board. The 2.5GB of native storage can be expanded using the 32GB capacity microSD slot and the 3.2MP camera can capture video in VGA resolution. A 1500mAh battery is powering the device while Android 4.0 is installed out of the box.

The Sony Xperia tipo can now be pre-ordered in the U.K. from Carphone Warehouse
Sounds like the Sony Xperia tip would make a good 'Back to School' phone for junior. With a global release just starting, it seems like a timely addition to Sony's lineup.
