Asus Zenfone 5 arrives in the UK with a limited-time £50 discount
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
Despite four months passing by since the unveiling of the ZenFone 5 lineup back at MWC 2018, the newest smartphones from Asus are still largely unavailable, but this is about to change in the UK.
As confirmed by the brand’s official website, the mid-range ZenFone 5 is now available to pre-order in the UK, with shipments set to begin July 9. Usually, the device would set consumers back £349.99 but Asus is offering a £50 discount to anybody who pre-orders the smartphone by July 8, bringing to cost down to a respectable £299.99. For this, users will gain access to a large 6.2-inch display complete with a notch up top and a glass construction. Furthermore, this is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which itself is paired with 4GB of RAM – Asus did initially announce a 6GB of RAM variant too but this is yet to go on sale in the UK – and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable via a microSD card slot.
Moving on to other details, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual-camera setup on the rear that features a main 12-megapixel sensor and a secondary 8-megapixel lens which are both accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash and phase detection autofocus. Additionally, another 8-megapixel camera with support for EIS is present up front. Lastly, in terms of the software, the ZenFone 5 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo straight out of the box along with the ZenUI 5.0 overlay on top.

While the regular ZenFone 5 is set to begin shipping in the UK within a couple of weeks, those interested in the cheaper ZenFone 5 Lite or flagship ZenFone 5Z will still have to wait a little longer as Asus is yet to confirm availability details for either smartphone.
