Asus ZenFone Selfie will be launched in July to bring laser auto focus to your selfies
Asus today announced the ZenFone Selfie, a new smartphone that's obviously made for users who enjoy taking lots of selfies. While the press release announcing the ZenFone Selfie doesn't include details about its launch, Taiwanese website Focus Taiwan has it that, according to Asus CEO Jerry Shen, the handset should be available starting July.
The new ZenFone comes with 13 MP cameras on the front and back, both with dual LED flashes and laser auto focus (thus, this is the world's first smartphone to have laser auto focus for selfies). Unlike the ZenFone 2 series, which features Intel Atom processors, the ZenFone Selfie is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. That aside, the handset is not too different from the ZenFone 2, featuring a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, LTE, 2 GB of RAM, and Android Lollipop.

At the moment, there's no word on the price of the Asus ZenFone Selfie. However, since the high-end ZenFone 2 is sold for $299 unlocked, we assume the ZenFone Selfie won't cost more than $300. We don't know if the ZenFone Selfie will be widely available around the world, but we hope to find out more about this soon.
