The
ZenFone Max Pro (M1) made its debut in Europe
back in July, but Asus plans to launch its sequel by the end of the year. The ZenFone Max Pro (M2) is a mid-range smartphone that we already told about last week.
However, we now have more information on the device, which is expected to be officially unveiled on December 11, as per Asus Indonesia's
recent tweet. The ZenFone Max Pro (M2) is advertised as a gaming smartphone, which is no surprise considering Asus' expertise in the gaming industry.
We also have a very small image render showing the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) courtesy to the folks over at
XDA Developers. The only thing we can definitely say is that the gaming smartphone will feature a notched display.
Also,
according to our previous report, the phone should boast a large 6-inch display, a decent
Snapdragon 660 processor, either 4GB or 6GB RAM, and triple camera. Unfortunately, word is the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) will ship with Android Oreo right out of the box, although we would have expected Asus to start releasing Android Pie-powered phones already.
Even if Asus will unveil the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) on December 11, it's unlikely that the phone will make it to the U.S. until next year. As far as the price goes, we're still in the dark, but we'll know more once the phone goes official.
