The
ZenFone 3 Zoom had a troubled launch since its official unveil back in January. The mid-range smartphone aimed at photographers was initially launched in Asia, but its release in North America so that Asus can improve its specs.
However, since that didn't happen, Asus decided to offer the
ZenFone 3 Zoom in the U.S. at a much lower price: $329 instead of $399.
Unlike the U.S. version of ZenFone 3 Zoom that packs 3GB RAM, the European model will be getting 4GB RAM inside. Because of that, the smartphone will be available for purchase for around €470 outright.
To avoid any confusion, the
ZenFone 3 Zoom will be launched across European markets as Asus ZenFone Zoom S. Other than that there won't be any changes specs-wise over the original model.
Asus ZenFone Zoom S is expected to boast a dual camera with 12-megapixel sensor, as well as a 13-megapixel selfie camera on the front side. The smartphone will be equipped with a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, and massive 5,000 mAh battery. Also, it will sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED full HD (1080p) display.
As far as availability goes, Asus ZenFone Zoom S is slated for a July 7 release in the Netherlands, but it should start popping up in other European countries around the same time frame.
