Asus Eee Pad Transformer gains Netflix app support with its latest software update
With Netflix expected to transition over to its new pricing structure when September rolls along, Asus Eee Pad Transformer owners are curiously waiting for the day when they’ll finally see added support for the popular app on the tablet.
Interestingly, other Honeycomb tablets are able to reap all the benefits of the app by simply manually installing the it by using its .apk file. However, the Transformer requires its owners to actually root the tablet first to get it fully operational.
Thankfully, the process is now being made easier with the latest maintenance update that’s being rolled out as we speak. With build 8.6.5.9, it finally brings added support for the Netflix app without the hassle of being required to root it – so essentially, you’ll only need to track down that Netflix .apk file and install it.
Naturally, if you haven’t received any notification regarding the tablet’s latest update, you can initiate the process by checking out for System Updates section under the Android settings menu. Once you’ve got it, you’ll be able to kick back and start streaming all of Netflix’s available programs.
