Asus Eee Pad Transformer Android 4.0 update now penciled in for the middle of next month
Recently, Android Police said that they were told by Asus to expect the Android 4.0 update for the Asus Eee Pad Transformerto be made available in the beginning of next month. As we pointed out at the time, that information seemed reliable because it allegedly came from the manufacturer and besides, you don't lie to the cops.
Now, some fresher information has come from Asus North America in the form of a response to a query on the manufacturer's Facebook site. The statement just reads, "You should be receiving your update in mid-February." Those who own the quad-core powered Asus Transformer Prime already received the Android 4.0 update recently.
While both tablets will end up with basically the same features after the update, such as the new UI, the quad-core processor in the Transformer Prime should respond more to the speed updates in Ice Cream Sandwich, than the dual-core processor found on the Eee Pad Transformer. Still, owners of both models should be happy with the changes that Android 4.0 brings to their tablet.
