April Android Security update includes bug fixes for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Information about the April Android security update has been disseminated and the update will soon be pushed out to the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Additionally, some Nexus handsets should receive it as well. Besides the usual security patches, the April Android security update contains 56 "functional updates" for Pixel and Nexus devices. These are fixes for bugs and other issues outside of security.
For example, the update will help reduce the delay that occurs when opening particular apps on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The update will also reduce battery drain on the same models, and improves Wi-Fi stability, and the quality of conference calls using Wi-Fi on the 2017 Pixel handsets. All Pixel and Nexus devices receiving the update will have a call forwarding problem resolved, and audio on phone calls will be improved.
