Apple's holiday ad 2015 stars Stevie Wonder and Andra Day; check it out now!
There are times when even Apple realizes that a particular promotional video doesn't require the presence of the Apple iPhone or Apple iPad in order to get a point across. That is the case with Apple's annual holiday ad for 2015, which stars Stevie Wonder and Andra Day. The song they are harmonizing on is Wonder's own 1967 composition, "Someday At Christmas."
Apple did show Wonder using GarageBand on a MacBook Pro, along with VoiceOver. The latter is software that Apple offers, to help those with vision problems use a computer. The end of the ad is "signed," Love, Apple.
You might recall last year's holiday ad, which showed a young woman using her iPhone, iPad and MacBook to create a duet based on a song her grandmother had recorded for her grandfather back in the day. The grandmother listens to the song on an Apple iPad mini 3. The video was so well received, that Apple released a second one that revealed the story behind the video.

In 2013, Apple's holiday ad won a Creative Arts Emmy for "Outstanding Commercial." The spot revolved around a typical teen on vacation with his family. The kid apparently decides to ignore everyone while constantly spending time with his iPhone. The parents are probably ready to send their son to a shrink. But the truth was revealed in the end, as the kid was actually using his iPhone to produce a video about the family's holiday vacation. The ad, a real tear jerker, can be found in the video slide slow along with the holiday ads for 2015 and 2014.
