Apple turns to a fashion model to help launch its smartwatch?
Apple has shown a desire to have its smartwatch considered as more than just another piece of technology. Apple had the Apple Watch unveiling viewed by fashion editors and bloggrs, and has had the timepiece displayed in France during Fashion Week. Last week, Chinese fashion model Liu Wen posted a picture on her Instagram page, showing a red-banded Apple Watch around her wrist. The caption read, "My second meeting with the #AppleWatch, this time in Colette! The first time? Well, you'll see soon."
This would seem to be a hint that Wen has been employed by Apple to model the device in print or television ads. The 26 year old model is the fifth-highest paid model in the world, representing a large number of famous fashion brands.
Apple apparently is hoping to have the Apple Watch adorn the wrists of techies and fashionistas alike. This could be an interesting move on the company's part. For Wen, being the face of Apple's smartwatch is sure to bring the model more fame and fortune. And an Apple Watch, to boot.
