Here's how the iPhone 14 battery holds up in 2024: Battery test results
Okay folks, we are well into 2024 now, which means that the iPhone 14 series is nearing its two year anniversary. Despite the fact that they will soon be two generations old, each of the four iPhone 14 models is still relevant in the current phone market, so it is worth looking at how it compares to some of the newer models.
What we will be comparing here today in particular is the iPhone 14 series' battery life vs the battery life of phones that have come out in the last year or so. Of course, we will be looking at all of the variants, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Keep in mind that if you are buying second hand or if you have already owned an iPhone 14 for some time, its battery capacity will have diminished, which inherently means shorter battery life too. That said, you can always remedy that by going to a professional to swap your battery for a new one.
Is the iPhone 14 battery life good?
The iPhone 14 series did come with a somewhat improved battery life compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 series, although that wasn't true when it came to mobile gaming. Nevertheless, its overall battery life was great when it came out, and it was definitely enough to last you a full day.
A little side note to point out here is that there were some iPhone 14 Pro owners who started reporting their iPhone's battery health depleting in a short period of time after purchasing it. So, if you own that model in particular you might have to change its battery sooner compared to the other variants.
In fact, the iPhone 14 Pro is probably the worst in terms of overall battery life, as it drains a ton of battery when you are playing more graphically intensive games.

Our web browsing test showed us that only the iPhone 14 Pro Max can go head to head with flagships that have come out in 2024. The iPhone 14 Pro is not bad either, but it is still outshined by something like the OnePlus 12.
Video streaming battery test results:
When it comes to video streaming, all of the iPhone 14 lineup actually holds pretty well next to today's competition. Even the iPhone 14 Pro manages to outlast the S24 Ultra. The OnePlus 12, on the other hand, demolishes all other models in this test, but that is not surprising given the company's expertise in battery and charging tech. Plus, the OnePlus 12 comes with a 5,400 mAh battery capacity, so there's that.
3D Gaming battery test results:
Here most of the iPhone 14 models also perform admirably well, with the one obvious exception being the iPhone 14 Pro. The AI 16 Bionic chipset simple proved too powerful for that small body; maybe there was some optimization issue, but we will never know. Surprisingly, the vanilla Galaxy S24 seems to last overall the same amount of time.

While Apple does not disclose the official numbers, we have an idea of what the battery sizes are of the iPhone 14 series.

No. We are yet to see an iPhone rocking a USB-C port, and the debate still remains whether we will see one in the near future. Rumor has it that the iPhone 15 might be the one, but there are many arguments against that claim as well.
What charger does the iPhone 14 use?
The iPhone 14 series comes with a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box, which can be used for charging when paired with Apple's official 20W USB-C charger, for instance. However, you would have to buy that separately if you don't already have one on hand, as Apple does not include a charger in the box. Alternatively, all iPhone 14 models support MagSafe wireless charging at up to 15W and Qi wireless charging at up to 7.5W.
