Apple puts the kibosh on the Smart Connector for the iPhone 7 Plus?
We have heard so many rumors about the Smart Connector feature seen on the back of Apple iPhone 7 Plus, that the latest one seems to be a fitting finale. According to the Weibo page of @KK, a tipster who has been the source of many photos we've seen of iPhone 7 prototypes, Apple has put the kibosh on the inclusion of the Smart Connector for any iPhone 7 model this year.
After testing the magnetic based connector on the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple apparently felt that it was not a good fit for the handset. If this rumor is true, that means there will be no Smart Keyboard accessory offered for Apple's phablet in 2016. The Smart Connector is used by Apple on the Apple iPad Pro so that the Smart Keyboard can quickly connect to the tablet. The magnets pass power from the tablet to the accessory, and data is goes back and forth between the slate and the keyboard.

We won't know about the legitimacy of any of the rumors we've been passing along until September 12th. According to Evan Blass, that is when Apple will be introducing the 2016 iPhone models. Keep in mind that this date is a rumor, too.
