When Apple unveiled its tenth anniversary model in September, it was obvious that certain features would require some tweaking due to the replacement of Touch ID with Face ID. One of those features is Apple Pay. With other iPhone models that are compatible with Apple Pay, using the mobile payment service requires a press of the Touch ID button to verify the identity of the person making the payment. With the iPhone X, verifying the user's identity is done with Face ID.

To show iPhone X owners how this is done, Apple has released a 41 second video titled "Apple Pay-How to pay with Face ID on the Apple iPhone X." When you're ready to use Apple Pay at the register, just double click the side button on your iPhone X. You'll see the Face ID logo appear. Stare at the screen the very same way you do to unlock the device. Once your identity is verified, hold the top of your iPhone X near the credit card reader screen, and you'll hear the familiar tone telling you that the transaction has been completed.
