Apple might introduce the iPad Mini at its separate iTunes event in October
So far the common agreement has been that Apple will make a public announcement of its new iPhone on September 12, with sales starting on the 21st. We've had the rumors about a smaller, cheaper iPad reach a crescendo level with numerous credible sources pointing out a fall release, so we assumed that the iPad Mini will also be introduced then.
Now a few ruminations on the launch date speculate that Apple is actually going to reserve the September 12 event entirely for the next iPhone with iOS 6, rather than split the audience's attention unnecessarily.
The iPad Mini, as well as a new iPod touch, which will likely share the larger 4" screen with the new iPhone, but without the cellular connectivity, is now rumored to be unveiled at the end of October, at the usual iTunes event, highlighting the devices as tools for media consumption. What do you think, does the new setup make sense?
