Apple's event today was heavy on iPhones, as could be expected, and the rumors that the iPhone 6 will enter its third design edition with only minor exterior changes got confirmed. We wouldn't call the disappearance of the headphone jack, or the clickable home key a minor change, but externally the iPhone 7 looks pretty close like the iPhone 6s or 6 before it, so the usual complete chassis overhaul cycle is being replaced with something that takes longer.
Besides the missing audio jack and the antenna bands moved to the sides, the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are coming with brand new cameras with larger pixels. and optical stabilization makes a cameo on the smaller iPhone. It only fits that Apple announced the new iPhone 7 on September 7, and, again as usual, it will unleash the preorders as soon as this Friday the 9th, while it will be launching the phones in its retail shops on Friday, September 16.
Germany and France are of the few countries where new iPhones launch concurrently with the US, so the September 16 release date will hold water on the other side of the pond, with Netherlands and the rest quickly following a week after, September 23. How much for Apple's new iPhones? We are glad you asked, but the starting tag is the same as any previous iPhone, here's the scoop:
