Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus to launch in China on October 17th; pre-orders start October 10th
After we heard reports that Chinese regulators had finally given thumbs up to the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, we knew it was just a matter of time until the two new iPhones would be launched in the country. On Wednesday morning, Apple announced that October 17th will be the launch date of the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch Apple iPhone 6 Plus in China.
Last year, China was one of the countries that received the Apple iPhone 5s and Apple iPhone 5c on the initial launch weekend. Even without the Chinese market included in this year's total, Apple managed to top last year's launch weekend with 10 million units sold. Last year, including sales made in China, Apple sold 9 million iPhones during it's launch weekend.
Available in Gold, Silver and Space Gray, the Apple iPhone 6 is priced at the equivalent of $862 for the 16GB model, $992 for the 64GB version and $1122 for the new 128GB variant of the handset. For the phablet-sized Apple iPhone 6 Plus, the 16GB unit will cost you $992. The 64GB version of the phablet is ticketed at $1122, and the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus will run you $1268.
Both phones can be pre-ordered from the online Apple Store starting October 10th. On October 14th, customers can pre-order either new iPhone 6 model from a brick and mortar Apple Store and pick it up at the same store on October 17th.
