Apple iPad mini catching up with supply, may sell a huge 12 million by year-end
The 7.9-inch iPad mini might sell even better than expected and now Apple has reportedly increased orders from 8 to 10 million, and the company might sell as many as 12 million tablets by the end of the year, according to DigiTimes.
iPad mini estimates have been allegedly varying and while initial forecasts were for Apple to sell around 10 million, low yields had it reconsider to between 6 and 8 million. Now, however, yields have reportedly improved and the company can break the 10 million barrier and sell as many as 12 million.
What’s interesting is that Apple is expected to sell as many iPad minis in the forthcoming Q1 2013, as in the traditionally very strong Holiday quarter. The iPad mini is a 7.9-inch tablet with almost the same dimensions as other 7-inch tablets because of its small bezel. Prices for the basic Wi-Fi-only model start at $329.
