Apple iOS 10 release date, beta download and new features video

10comments

Apple's iOS 10 introduces much more visible and drastic interface changes than its predecessor, which was mainly focused on under-the-hood optimizations, like speed and security. We have a brand new Lock screen with rich notifications, widgets and quick camera access, a more interactive Peek preview that utilizes 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, as well as a brand new Apple Music

Not only that, but Apple decoupled the stock apps from the operating system for faster updates, and significantly enhanced iMessage, making it possibly the most full-featured secure chat app out there. That's not even mentioning smaller runs like the introduction of News subscriptions, or the Photos app auto recognition and organization options. So, when will all these goodies be available to the iPhone 5 and above, or the iPad 4th gen and above?

Well, you can sign up for the iOS 10 Developer Preview as soon as today, a Public Beta is coming next month, while the general release will hit all those devices in September, presumably with the launch of iPhone 7, as has become customary. Do you like what you see so far with iOS 10?
