While no official launch date for the Apple iPad has been released, the device is expected to be offered sometime later this month. and Apple has decided to offer a "Special Gift" to those who camp out on lines waiting for the doors to open, according to the Examiner. The site also says that on March 10th, Apple Store employees will start to train on the iPad and will get their first "hands-on" experience with the tablet. This is confirmed, says the site, by an Apple Store manager and other inside sources. The Examiner adds that March 26th is a likely launch date and the 3G version will follow with an April/May rollout. A commercial is already in the can, and will begin rotation on March 15th. According to Geek.com, an ad for a secret Apple product was filmed last August at a California restaurant and while the timing seems off, the site suggests that with all the secrecy involved, it could have been the taping for the iPad commercial.
