New version of Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock launched
After making the rounds at FCC (Federal Communications Commission) a little while ago, the new Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock has quietly popped up on the Apple Store. The Apple wireless charging pad is available for $79 and supports the following wearables: Apple Watch Series 4, Series 3, Series 2 and Series 1.
It's unclear what improvements Apple has done to the new wireless charging pad over the original one, but there must be some under-the-hood enhancements that would justify its market release. The Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock uses the same inductive charging connector that comes with Apple Watch.
Also, it connects via the Lightning to USB Cable and Apple 5W USB Power Adapter. Due to the charging dock's form factor, your Apple Watch will charge in a flat position with its band open, on its side.
It's worth noting that the new Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock replaces the original model, which seems to have been discontinued.
