Last Friday, we showed you a new product video released by LG for the LG Q6. This might be considered a mini version of the current LG flagship model, the LG G6. The phone features a 5.5-inch FullVision screen, which replaces the 5.7-inch display on the LG G6. Both models feature an 18:9 aspect ratio. There are three versions of the Q6. The LG Q6+ comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The LG Q6 offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the LG Q6α comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. While the LG G6 is powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset, the Q6 has the Snapdragon 435 SoC under the hood.

On Wednesday, LG released another new product video for the Q6 and it shows one of the big features offered to users of the device. That would be face recognition. Instead of using fingerprints to unlock the handset and verify identity, the front-facing camera uses a 3D scan of the phone owner's face to do the things that you would expect from your fingerprint reader. One hand operation allows those with limited reach to gain the ability to touch all areas of the screen. And thanks to the series 7000 aluminum build, the phone can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
